Police Helicopter Sent To Beijing Garment Store Protest,

On May 8th, in Beijing, a criminal case triggered a protest
in front of Jingwen Garment Store in Muxiyuan.
Armed police, special police and helicopters were sent there.
The news of the incident was strictly censored.
All related words were also censored online.
Beijing media were forbidden to report the incident.

Beijing citizen, Mr. Yao went to the site to support protesters.
Yao told NTD that 5-6,000 people were gathered.
More than 10,000 police came along with armored vehicles
and several helicopters.

Three rows of police wore helmets holding batons and shields.
They attempted to stop protesters. Major roads were blocked.

On May 3rd, an Anhui lady, 22-year-old Yuan Liya jumped
out of Jingwen Garment Store building and died.
Beijing police quickly came to the conclusion that Yuan
committed suicide and unnecessary to file the case.
However, police refused to allow Yuan's family to inspect
CCTV recording tapes of the store, triggering a public outcry.

An insider revealed online that Yuan actually
was raped by six security guards in a room;
Two of them escaped, one surrendered to police.
This news couldn't be confirmed yet.

Jiangxi human rights activist, Liu Ping urged officials
to publicize their property.
Liu was taken away by police last month.
She has not been seen since.
Until May 7th, sources said that Liu was detained as a
criminal for allegedly "inciting subversion of state power".

Voice of America cited sources that on May 7th Liu's lawyer
Zhang Xuezhong went to Yuanhe police station in Yuxin City.
Zhang requested to meet Liu, but was rejected.

On April 27th, Liu was taken from her home while she was
chatting online, there was no news about her for a few days.
On the same day, more than five activists were taken away
by police. No one had any news about them since.

Many netizens commented how the two issues were linked:

requesting officials to publicize their property and
inciting subversion of state power?

Sources said that authorities probably are censoring
this topic on the Internet.
Lawyer Zhang's Sina Weibo (microblog) account
was blocked on the morning, of May 8th.
