U.S. Media: Shanxi Explosion Used Sophisticated Bombs

The November 6th bombings near the Communist Party
headquarters in Shanxi shocked people at home and abroad.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mouthpiece played
down the incident.
However, international media conducted serious reports on
the techniques and causes of the explosion.

Los Angeles Times quoted a Hong Kong reporter's microblog
saying that from the scene, the explosions were set up by
someone with the knowledge of bombings and the capability
to get near the provincial government building.

The Christian Science Monitor also reported,"Seven bombs
went off in quick succession, which suggested an unusual
level of sophistication."

The Japanese media analyzed that through the white smoke
scattered metal pellets and ball bearings at the scene, it
suggested the bomb might be similar to the one used during
the Boston bombing this April, like a pressure cooker.

It is reported that pesticides can easily be the explosives for a
pressure cooker, with the addition of metal inside the cooker
increasing the lethal nature.

Japanese Media: The Bombings Reflects Despair Of Petitioners

BBC Chinese network reported that most Japanese media
agree the Shanxi bombing is a an attack, but has nothing to
do with the terrorist organizations.

It is commonly believed that as well as the Shanxi bombing,
all other attacks revealed in China in recent years reflects
the social conflicts, clashes between the petitioners and the
government, and the despair of the petitioners.
These are the visible despair of those who are vulnerable
with the feeling of being abandoned.
They have turned their complaints into violent protests .

Japanese media also pointed out that, on the eve of the
Third Plenary Session of the Communist Party, a series of
attacks are hitting the new leadership.

Tiananmen Bombing-A Terrorist Attack Is Questioned

While the world is watching closely on the Shanxi bombing,
the international community continues to question the relation
of Tiananmen bombing and the East Turkistan Islamic
Movement as claimed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

According to Voice of America report, Dr. Michael Clarke,
expert in Xinjiang history at Griffith University, Australia,
indicated that the person suspected of the attack apparently
lacks the capability to do a sophisticated crime.
He questioned how such a seemingly amateur attack
could be linked to an organized terrorist organization.

It is reported that Beijing exaggerates the threat from the
East Turkistan Islamic Movement to prove the legitimacy
to conduct strict policy against the Uighur minority.

Washington D.C. based Uyghur Human Rights Project
Senior Researcher Henryk Szadziewski indicated that
the terrorism charges are conducive to distract attention
from the political grievances of the Uighurs.
