英國《路透社》1月17號援引三個不同的消息源報導,從去年起,中共當局已經對十幾名正副部級高級官員進行了調查和約談,這些人都同中共前政治局常委周永康關係密切,其中包括最高檢察長曹建明。
報導說,雖然這些調查和約談並不等於這些官員會被起訴,但此種圍繞中共最高層的調查前所未有,這些被調查的官員雖然還沒有被拘留,但是都被限製出國。
報導還透露,周永康目前被關押在天津的一個祕密別墅裡,由中共軍隊38軍的人員負責看守,他的保鏢、祕書和司機也都被控制,周永康與外界的聯繫完全被切斷。
周永康的妻子賈曉燁、大兒子周斌(濱)也都在被調查中。還有幾個低級別的北京市政府官員,以及中共喉舌《央視》的幾名女主播也牽涉周永康案。
不過,中共官方對周永康案目前還沒有發出正式聲明。
美國、歐盟關注伊力哈木被抓事件
北京知名維族學者伊力哈木被抓事件,持續引起關注,美國和歐盟官員1月17號都發表聲明,要求中共當局解釋拘留伊力哈木的理由,說明他的下落。
美國國務院女發言人莎琪週四在聲明中表示:「美國對北京警察拘押伊力哈木和他的學生(至少6名),深表關注。」
她說,伊力哈木被拘押,是中共當局逮捕和拘留維權律師、互聯網活動人士、記者、宗教領袖,以及以和平方式,挑戰中共官方政策、和行動的其他人士的一部分,中共當局的這一系列舉動令人不安。
歐盟駐華大使馬庫斯•埃德雷爾同一天也表示:「希望中共當局說明伊力哈木被拘留的原因,並告知他的家人,他被拘押在甚麼地方。」
他還敦促中共政府,如果對伊力哈木的指控不成立,就應該釋放他。
伊力哈木的妻子17號也對媒體表示,她相信自己的丈夫沒有做任何違法犯罪的事情,因為他整天除了在大學教書、從事學者工作,就是看孩子。
目前,北京維權律師李方平已經介入此案。
舉行「一人遊行」 葉洪霞被拘留
日前在北京進行「一個人遊行」示威活動的北京市民葉洪霞,目前被證實已經在1月16號被北京警方拘留。
據《美國之音》報導,被抓的時候,葉洪霞正在北京繁華路段 「一個人遊行」,抗議暴力強拆。
目前,葉洪霞被拘留的罪名還不清楚,她的家人也還沒有拿到拘留證。
葉洪霞的朋友透露,葉洪霞事先已經囑咐他們,請大陸維權律師程海,作為她的代理律師。
葉洪霞「一個人遊行」的活動,開始於1月15號,原計劃進行4天。

Zhou Yongkang Probe: Over A Dozen Senior Officials Questioned
Reuters cited three sources in a January 17
report, revealing the Chinese regime has
questioned over a dozen senior officials.
This includes the country's top prosecutor, Cao Jianming,
about links to former security chief Zhou Yongkang
The questioning will not necessarily lead to prosecution.
These investigations into the affairs of China's top leaders
are deemed to be unprecedented, according to Reuters.
"Officials who were questioned have not been taken
into custody, but are barred from leaving the country."
Zhou Yongkang himself has been put under house
arrest at a villa in the northern port city of Tianjin.
His bodyguards, secretaries and driver have been removed.
He is being guarded by soldiers from the elite 38th Army,
and "contact with the outside world has been totally cut off."
Zhou's wife, Jia Xiaoye, and his eldest son,
Zhou Bin, are also under investigation.
Several lower-ranking Beijing city government
officials, as well as anchors of state broadcaster
CCTV, have also been questioned, said the report.
However, the Chinese Communist regime has not
publically aknowledged Zhou Yongkang's case.
Ilham Tohti Arrest Draws International Attention
The arrest of prominent Beijing scholar Ilham Tohti has
drawn attention from both the United States and the EU.
There are calls for the Chinese regime to
explain his arrest, and reveal his whereabouts.
Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for the
U.S. State Department commented.
The United States is "deeply concerned" over the detention
of economist Ilham Tohti, and at least six of his students.
She said the detention "appears to be part of a disturbing
pattern of arrests and detention of public interest lawyers,
internet activists, journalists, religious leaders and others
peacefully challenging official Chinese policies and actions."
Jen Psaki emphasized Washington's concerns.
European Union Ambassador to China, Markus Ederer,
spoke in a briefing with reporters on Friday in Beijing.
He urged Chinese authorities to clarify what
charges Ilham Tohti might be facing, and to
inform Ilham's family of his whereabouts
He urged the regime that "if these charges
cannot be substantiated, release him."
Ilham's wife told media on the January 17 that, she
does not believe Ilham has committed any crime.
His daily routine is teaching, researching, and baby sitting.
Currently, Beijing human rights lawyer
Li Fangping has been involved in the case.
One-Person Protest: Ye Hongxia Detained
Beijing resident Ye Hongxia recently
initiated a one-person protest in Beijing.
It has been confirmed that she was
detained by the police on January 16.
Voice of America reported that Ye Hongxia was arrested
while she was protesting against violent demolition.
She protested alone, in a busy area in Beijing.
Currently, the charges for her detention are unclear,
and her family has not received any arrest warrant.
According to Ye Hongxia's friend, she told
them in advance to commission human rights
lawyer Cheng Hai as her defense attorney.
Ye Hongxia had initiated the one-person protest on
January 15, and intended to continue for four days.

Zhou Yongkang Probe: Over A Dozen Senior Officials Questioned
