领导香港占领运动的学生组织“学联”,正在计划前往北京与中共高层会面,要求中共撤回“人大”8月31号通过的假普选方案,11月7号,学联秘书长周永康表示,他们将在APEC会议结束之后才赴北京,以避免挑衅意味。
当天下午,学联致信前香港行政长官、中共全国政协副主席董建华,希望他代为安排学联与中共高层官员会面,并希望董建华9号之前回覆。
周永康表示,即使最终无人安排中共官员接见,他们也会赴北京。
香港学民思潮成员被拒入深圳
不过,就在学联紧锣密鼓的准备进京表达诉求的同时,参与占领运动的另一个学生组织──“学民思潮”,却有一名成员11月7号在深圳被拒绝入境。
据《自由亚洲电台》报导,深圳海关指控这名学生参与“违反国家安全活动”,并将他遣返回香港。
学民思潮召集人黄之锋表示,他相信中共政府已经掌握了学民同学,甚至是雨伞运动其他成员及义工的名单。不过他说,学民思潮不会因而退缩。
奥习会前 白宫关注中国人权
美国总统欧巴马计划从11月10号到12号访问中国,参加亚太经合会组织(APEC)峰会,并与中共党魁习近平会晤。在奥习会前夕,白宫国家安全顾问赖斯,11月6号与美中两国的人权活动人士见面。
白宫发表声明说,赖斯和人权活动人士讨论了中国人权状况恶化的问题,并对美国如何建设性地鼓励中国改善人权状况提出了建议。
白宫说,美国政府对中国维权律师所遭受的待遇深感关切。
国际特赦吁释放声援香港被关押者
11月7号,国际人权组织“国际特赦”也发表声明,呼吁下周一到北京参加亚太经合组织(APEC)会议的各国领导人,敦促中共当局释放因支持香港争取真普选而被关押的大陆人士。
“国际特赦”说,自9月29号香港爆发要求真普选的抗争以来,近百名中国大陆人士被带走或拘捕,目前至少还有76人被关押,其中多数集中在北京、江苏,以及离香港更近的广州和深圳。
“国际特赦”东亚研究中心主任Roseann Rife表示,各国领导人必须打破沉默,利用APEC峰会这个机会,敦促中共党魁习近平,尊重被关押人士的言论和集会自由权利,立即无条件释放他们。

Federation Ask Tung Chee-hwa for Beijing Talks after APEC
The Hong Kong Federation of Students who led Occupy Central says they will request the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) senior level to withdraw the fake election resolution programmed by the People's Congress on August 31st.On Nov. 7, federation secretary general Zhou Yongkang said they will go to Beijing after the APEC meeting.
In the afternoon the federation sent a letter to Tung Chee-hwa, former Hong Kong chief executive and vice chairman of the National Political Consultative Conference.
The federation hope he can arrange to meet with senior CCP officials and give a response before the 9th.
Zhou Yongkang says they will still go to Beijing even without an official meeting.
HK Scholarism Member Refused Entry to Shenzhen, China
A member of another student organization involved in Occupy Central, the Scholarism, was refused entry into Shenzhen City on Nov. 7, when the federation prepared their request in Beijing.
According to Radio Free Asia, the Shenzhen Customs said the student had allegedly participated in activities that were against national security, and sent him back to Hong Kong.
Scholarism convener Huang Zhifeng believes the CCP has a list of students and volunteers from the organization and the umbrella campaign; however, he says, the Scholarism will not flinch.
White House Focus on China Rights Before Obama, Xi Meet
U.S. President Barack Obama will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation organization (APEC) summit from Nov. 10-12 and meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
On Nov. 6, White House National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice met with human rights activists.
The White House issued a statement saying that Rice had discussed with the activists the worsening human rights in China, and suggested how the U.S. could constructively encourage China to improve their rights situation.
The White House showed deep concern for China's treatment of its human rights lawyers.
Amnesty International Call for China Detainees' Release
On Nov. 7, international human rights organization, Amnesty International, issued a statement calling on leaders attending the APEC in Beijing next Monday to urge Chinese authorities to release those detained for supporting Hong Kong.
Amnesty International says, since Hong Kong's struggle for universal suffrage began on Sept. 29, nearly 100 mainlanders have been detained or arrested, with current numbers reaching at least 76 people, mostly in Beijing, Jiangsu, and Guangzhou and Shenzhen, which are close to Hong Kong.
"The leaders should take this opportunity to speak out and urge President Xi to ensure all those detained solely for exercising their right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly are immediately and unconditionally released," said Roseann Rife, East Asia Research Director at Amnesty International.
