The Honorary Visit List Suggests Show Time For Zhou Yongkang's Case

Over the years, Communist leaders conduct annual visits to
former high officials prior to the Chinese New Year.
Those who were visited were obviously honored and the list
is also highly valued.
However, this year, only Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao made it
onto the list among the retired Politburo Standing Committee.
What about Zhou Yongkang, who has been detained for
investigtion? The following is our experts' analysis.

The Chinese official media released the list of visits to the
retired high officials on Jan. 28.
Rather than the usual long list, this short list with just
Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao is intriguing.

Zhuang Daohe, Law and Economic Research Center of
Zhejiang University co-founder:
"They have been very particular and serious about this list
over the years, because it is an honor.
But strangely, only two individuals were named. It shows there
are people who can not be revealed whether he's been visited
or not."

Law scholar Zhuang Daohe says that the opaque Communist
system has blinded the public.

Zhuang Daohe: "The centralized system is accustomed to
secret operations. Nothing is open. Why is the list not complete?
It is disrespectful to those who were visited.
It also violates our rights to know who's been visited,
or not visited. They monopolize the information."

Hong Kong's South China Morning Post reported on Jan. 29,
"Central authorities have begun briefing officials on findings
of the corruption case centered on former security tsar
Zhou Yongkang,
signalling the final stage of one of the country's most significant
graft investigations in decades."

Hua Po, Beijing politics watcher:
"If it is conveyed within the regime, Zhou's case could
explode tonight.

When information on Bo Xilai was revealed at 5pm,
public announcement was made by 11pm that day.
I think we should pay attention to the evening news today."

A netizen's post on the Internet has also confirmed,
Netizen "Sanmo@ hillwood" wrote on Jan. 29:
My police cousin just came and confirmed that Zhou Yongkang
was "detained and interrogated."
What is more shocking is that the central anti-corruption order!
must eliminate one secretary at the municipal and provincial levels.

Hua Po: "It means a foregone conclusion that basically
Zhou Yongkang's allies have been cleaned, all those who
have been interviewed, warned, and removed.
Basically, it is all under control. The impact and risk of
exposing Zhou Yongkang's case has been minimized."

Over the past year, the CCP have arrested and investigated
a large number of Jiang faction officials, especially
Zhou Yongkang's old cronies.

Hua Po: "It is questionable if other Standing Committee
(members)have been visited. Of course, Zhou was not.
To those other opponents, how will they be handled,
it depends on how they have behaved. It is a threat and warning."

Zhou Yongkang's crimes have been mostly related to the coup
and organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Prior to 2013, Zhou Yongkang had been regarded as the treasurer
at the front desk by the Jiang faction,
while former Vice-President Zeng Qinghong had been
the behind the scenes concierge of the Jiang faction.

Hong Kong's Open Magazine editor in chief Jin Zhong tells
NTD that:
the CCP's Project II is widely known to investigate
Zhou Yongkang,
and Project II, according to sources, is investigating
Zeng Qinghong.

Voice of America reported on the 29th about Hong Kong's
wanted billionaire Zeng Wei being detained in the United States.
Whether Zeng Wei is the one known to be Zeng Qinghong's son
has yet to be verified.

Historian Zhang Lifan told foreign media that Zhou Yongkang's
case will soon go public.
The Communist regime has the ritual of displaying sensitive
cases prior to the holidays. It is just like a political CCTV
Chinese New Year Gala.

He said: "According to the rhythm of the cards,
it is show time for Zhou's case."
