Henan Daily Confronting Xi Jin Ping?

On December 27, the official newspaper “Henan Daily”
published an article in a front page editorial,
in which it criticized Zhao Keluo who, against the provincial
government launched a “leveled tomb movement” online.
Zhao Keluo is member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
Henan Political Consultative Conference,
He is also a member of the Revolutionary Committee Of
the Chinese Kuomintang which is one of the eight so-called “democratic parties” in China.
Three days ago, the new CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping
stressed that the CCP should enhance multi-party cooperation.
Now that the Henan Daily has criticized Zhao Keluo heavily,
does it not confront Xi Jinping openly?

The Henan Daily published an article titled
"Treat Rationally, Assemble the Consensus”.
The article said Zhao Keluo had published
“improper words” online.
The article also questioned the CCP's
“multi-party cooperation” in a political tone.
The article attacked an individual
which is rare in China's local politics after 1989.

In May, Zhao Keluo used his real name and published
a microblog which challenged the movement that
the CCP's Nanyang City government had leveled tombs.

He criticized that the local government had only leveled
tombs of ordinary families,
but didn't touch the tombs of officers' families
whose levels are higher than deputy director.
Zhao Keluo's words have triggered a strong
public discussion
which criticizes the Henan authorities. In November,
the Leveled Tomb Movement has been forced to stop.

On December 17, Zhao Keluo published “A CCP Political
Consultative Conference Member's Confession Letter”.
In the article, he said he “was removed from the candidates
list of the next Henan Political Consultative Conference”,
“because he had made trouble for the leadership
over the Nanyang leveled tomb movement case”.

He confessed he thought that he, as a member of
the Political Consultative Conference , should have the
right to do democratic supervision, but “ I was too naïve.”

Zhao Keluo is a director of a registered accounting firm,

and a member of the Revolutionary Committee Of
the Chinese Kuomintang which is one of the so-called eight “democratic parties”.
He entered the Political Consultative Conference
as a “new level personage”.

Hu Ping, the chief editor of "Beijing Spring" magazine
told NTD that CCP's so-called “multi-party cooperation” is just deceptive talk.

Hu Ping: ”These so-called democratic parties are vassals.

They are acting as vassals, which means the CCP leaders
can say that democratic parties are welcome to be involved in politics,
but if the parties really do it,
the CCP will be unhappy and will suppress them.”

Zhao Keluo commented online, "As a member of
CCP Henan Political Consultative Conference,
I have the right and obligation to do political consultation,
democratic supervision,
and to be involved in policy discussion, all of which
are defined by articles of CPPCC association.
As a China registered accountant, I should be engaged
in social audit supervision, assist on independence,
objective and judicial practicing projects.
What have I done wrong?”

In this regard, Wu Jianguo, a network writer, thinks that

most of the so-called democratic parties' members
are arranged by and working for the CCP.
Of course, a small number of them are dragged into
the “democratic“ parties,
in which position they can watch for actions or thinking that
doesn't match the CCP's policy, or for “wrong cards“ being played.

Wu Jianguo: "The interesting point of Zhao Keluo case
is that human society has entered the internet age,
it's hard for the CCP's state apparatus to control net media.
As a member of CPPCC, Zhao was suppressed.
It shows that Zhao is a vassal of the CCP,
he has to follow the game policy made by the CCP.
He can't do anything that shouldn't be done by a vassal.”

Recently, Zhao Keluo published a "suicide note" online,
which attracted the interest of netizens, and was forwarded more than 50,000 times.
Zhao Keluo said in the suicide note,
”After I had been removed from the membership of CPPCC,
I was told that they will monitor me continually.
On a provincial level, I have no solution to protect myself.
Let the retribution come!
I will wait, and I am prepared for death.”

On December 24 and 25, Xi Jinping visited the headquarters
of each of the democratic parties, and the National Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Xi stressed the importance of meetings that will
consist of and develop multi-party cooperation.

In a little less than three days, the Henan Daily published an
article on the front-page on December 27 criticizing Zhao Keluo.
The leading article discussed whether it was intentional or
negligence, that the Henan Daily had criticized a democratic person in high profile?
Does it look like a direct confrontation with Xi Jinping himself?

Hu Ping: "Of course, the media is a hired thug in China.

On the one hand, the CCP is afraid of this situation
because it has to speak politely on the surface.
This is like it admits that Chinese citizens have rights
but it will suppress those citizens all the same,
and will name you a criminal if you really
try to exercise those rights.“

Hu Ping suggests that in this situation, we should
criticize the media which has acted as a hired thug.
We should encourage more people to stand up
and protect their rights.
