CCP's recall of top officials'children confirmed to be false news

CCP and Hong Kong media reported that Wang Qishan,
secretary of the CCP Central Commission for Discipline and Inspection, announced that
the children of China's top officials are now required to return
to China within a year of graduating from foreign universities.
This message was deleted in the evening,
and Hong Kong media claims it to be a false report.
This incident triggered public curiosity about the truth.
Below is our report.

The China Youth Daily website reported on May 28
that Wang Qishan had ordered the children of CCP officials
to return home within a year after study abroad.
The messages soon spread over the Internet.

Phoenix Hong Kong Channel also reported on May 28 that
Wang Qishan would announce to all minister level and above
Party officials that their children must return after
study abroad, otherwise their jobs would be adjusted.
By 2014, this requirement will be extended to vice-ministerial
level officials, and in 2015 to department level officials.
This policy aims at ending the "naked officials" phenomenon.

But all Mainland websites suddenly deleted these reports
on the evening of May 28th without any official explanation.
The Phoenix later claimed that report to be false news
and publicly apologized to Internet users.

Political critic Xing Tianxing:"Wang Qishan's requirement
was reported by Youth.cn, a Mainland website with good credibility.
This issue is more transparent than the earlier dispute
over (Xi Jinping's) taxi ride (claim).
It is probably that Wang Qishan tried to issue such
a requirement but the plan was aborted."

Not long ago, there was news of Xi Jinping taking a Beijing
taxi incognito, which was later pointed out to be false news by official media.

In mid-April of this year, Hong Kong's Ta Kung Pao
published news about Xi Jinping surreptitiously riding in a taxi.
Later, Xinhua's social media account confirmed
the news to be true, but a few hours after that,
Xinhua News Agency suddenly declared the report
as false news, causing a public sensation.

Hangzhou freelance writer Zan Aizong: "Anything issued
by China's Central Propaganda Department is considered true.
Other news issued by China Youth Daily, People's Daily,
CCTV, etc. can be claimed as false by the Propaganda Department."

Zan Aizong, member of Independent Chinese Pen Club,
and former reporter of China Ocean News, interpreted
this news as Wang Qishan's anti-corruption attempt,
which met with fierce resistance.
Zan Aizong said that maybe the CCP has held conferences
about anti-corruption, but the measures discussed
at the meeting did not receive high-level support,
and instead caused officials to panic.
Therefore, the Central Propaganda Department claimed
it to be "false news" to cover up the incident.

Zan Aizong: "It is highly unlikely for the overseas students
to come back to China, since these people study abroad to seek safety.
If it is unsafe for them in China, will they still come back?

If the media continues to report this issue, they will make this
a very serious issue, and it will be more unlikely for overseas students to come back."

According to U.S. government statistics, 74.5% of Chinese
ministerial level officials’children have a U.S. green card
or citizenship, and over 91% of their grandchildren hold
U.S. citizenship.

Political critic Xing Tianxing said Chinese officials
are looking for escape routes for their children.
They only use China as one of their cash cows, which
sufficiently shows that the CCP has no hope in itself.

Mainland scholar Zhu Jianguo believes that the CCP would
like to recall the children of senior officials mainly in opposition of universal values.
Their purpose is for them to prepare to take over power.

Zhu said that now the second and even third generation
children of CCP officials have entered the ranks of succession.

Recently, rumors spread that Deng Xiaoping's grandson
Deng Zhuodi, who has U.S. citizenship, now serves as deputy county-level governor.
Hu Jintao's son Hu Haifeng is serving as director of
Zhejiang Jiaxing Municipal Committee.
Ye Jianying‘s great-grandson Ye Zhonghao served as party
secretary of Guangdong Yunfu City Committee last year.
