Xi Jinping Asks for Correction of His Remarks

On October 1, some overseas media said that
the Central Propaganda Department misinterpreted
the speech made by Xi Jinping, leader
of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Currently, Xi has ordered them to emphasize
the "correct" meaning of his August 19 speech.
Critics said that the CCP's action of cleaning up the Internet
and judicial interpretation has generated such strong
negative reactions from the public, shocking the CCP.

Now, they want the subordinates to bear the responsibility.

On October 1, DuoweiNet reported that reliable sources said
Xi Jinping ordered some members of the propaganda
department to correct their rigid understanding of his speech.

He also requested the security department to tone down
their extreme behavior in carrying out his spirit, relevant
departments to protect Internet vitality, encourage proper
legal discussions and avoid hurting others when dealing
with conflicts and managing the network.

Zhu Jianguo, writer from Shenzhen:"That means the monk
read the wrong scripture.
The CCP has run its traditional ways politically.
It is not that someone misunderstood what he said,
but that following what he said brought undesirable results.
Thus, the higher lever will make adjustments,
and the lower level will bear the responsibilities."

Hu Jun, founder of human rights movement: "The CCP tried
to suppress the Internet and has totally failed.
Since it has not brought its intended effect,
they become panicky.
So, they give you a different explanation."

On August 19, Xi Jinping mentioned, during a meeting
of ideological work of the propaganda department,
the importance of ideological work.

Afterwards, directors of the propaganda department from
31 provinces chanted, "pull out the sword."
Within a few short days, the local security bureaus all over
China arrested several thousand Internet critics.

The CCP's action not only failed to intimidate netizens,
but also triggered a strong counterattack, including exposing
the CCP People's Daily's exaggeration of crop production
in 1958, the rumor of former Chongqing
police chief Wang Lijun's medical leave and more.

On September 10, the judicial branch made a new
interpretation regarding forwarding rumors via social media,
and the poster of messages that have been forwarded
500 times can be jailed for three years.
On September 17, Yang Hui, 17, from Gansu, was arrested
for that.
Netizens dug up scandals like Bei Yongqiang, director
of the Security Bureau, having had bribed his superiors.
Bei was dismissed afterwards, and Yang Hui was released.

Attorney Tang Jingling: "Many netizens and even law
professionals criticize this new interpretation.
However, more outrageously was that they did it
to a young child.
Many people were very angry."

On September 30, the Supreme Court in Mainland pointed out
that those who spread terror messages,
even without a terrorist action, can also be convicted.

One member even claimed people are liable for cracking
jokes on the Internet.

Hu Jun: "'Serving the people' is a rumor,
and they arrested whoever said it.
Who shattered the rumor of 'Long live Mao Zedong'?
Mao did not live that long.
Was that a rumor too? But who shattered it?
Now, they are in a dilemma, a very awkward position."

In the past, some people did not want to believe that the CCP
would disintegrate, but now, many ordinary people
are waiting for that day to come with full confidence.

Hujun:"Now, it is clear that the masses are on the opposite side
of officials.
The CCP has taken its people as enemies, so many citizens
are standing on the other side, wanting to win the game
and fight with the CCP."

In recent days, the CCP executed Xia Junfeng, a paddler
who killed two city managers out of self-defense.
October 1 was a national holiday, and netizens
from different areas attended Xia's funeral.
Together with vehicles whistling collectively and percussion
instruments, people showed their mourning for Xia.

A Mainland media person published an article and laughed
at the CCP's evil deeds.
He asked the people in China to stand up, not because
of their courage, but because of the unbearable humiliation.
